Judea and Samaria are an integral part of Israel
According to the US Consulate in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria are an integral part of the State of Israel. That is the only logical conclusion to be drawn from its activities, as reported in the Jerusalem Post.
If the US regards Judea and Samaria as an integral part of the Jewish State of Israel, it is easy to understand American ire over being stopped by Israeli security personnel manning a roadblock since diplomatic staff traveling within a country are exempt from security inspections.
Even if the security personnel confirm that the US mission is illegally using its diplomatic vehicles for illicit human trafficking purposes.
However, if the US regards Judea and Samaria as part of a second Palestinian Arab state alongside the original Palestinian Arab state of Jordan, then not even the US in its infinite arrogance can expect diplomatic immunity for the same staff and vehicles in two separate countries or political entities.
After all, US diplomatic personnel stationed in Sweden cannot demand diplomatic immunity for gun-running or human trafficking offences if they are picked up in Norway – their immunity ceases once they cross the border.
So which is it to be – are Judea and Samara part of Israel and the US mission is free to conduct illegal activities within the single state’s borders, as it has been doing? Or are Judea and Samaria part of another state, as the US claims, thereby rendering all passage subject to the same stringent checks applicable to all suspects?
