Question:
When is organ trafficking involving Palestinian victims not a headline-grabbing story?

Answer 1:
When Swedish extreme-Left tabloid Aftonbladet realizes that the despicable practice cannot be blamed on Jews, Israelis, Zionists or democrats.

Answer 2:
When Swedish extreme-Left tabloid Aftonbladet realizes that the despicable practice is in fact taking place among Muslims in Jordan, the West Bank, Gaza and Egypt.

The Aftonbladet Effect:
Total clampdown. The story does not exist.

Not in the totalitarian media empire run by Aftonbladet, Sweden’s biggest-circulation daily and largest stakeholder in TT, the Swedish news agency that dedicates itself to demonisation of the Jewish state while maintaining absolute silence on human rights abuses in such beacons of democracy and respectful coexistence as Sudan, Syria, Iran, the Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, the Fatah-ruled West Bank, Jordan, Pakistan, Afghanistan.

Is there a pattern in the above shortlist?

Scarcely surprisingly, Aftonbladet declined to publish a story about a massive organ-trafficking industry that continues to this day.

That’s because it discovered no Jews were involved. All the alleged perpetrators are Muslims. The victims are all Palestinian Arabs, exactly as in the original story published by Aftonbladet alleging systematic Israeli abuse (later retracted). All the other parameters are similar. It’s only the religion and ethnicity of the alleged perpetrators that are different.

Is a pattern beginning to emerge?

Immaterial really, since the story never made it into Aftonbladet.

CAMERA has published its exchange of correspondence with Aftonbladet on the issue of organised Muslim organ trafficking. “Exchange” is perhaps not the best word to use – Aftonbladet never replied. It’s a non-issue for the newspaper since no Jews were alleged to have been involved.

Is the pattern any clearer now?

No honest, principled or loyal Swedes were hurt in the publication of this article, but a whole lot of rabid publicly funded anti-Semites, virulent anti-Israeli fanatics and blatant pro-Islamists have undoubtedly been significantly aggrieved by its tone and content.

”Lagen är en åsna”

Charles Dickens visste ett och annat.

Han uttryckte sig på ett egendomligt sätt genom den komiska figuren Mr Bumble, men det saknas vare sig klarsynthet, ärlighet eller insikt i hans ord. Så här skrev Charles Dickens i boken ”Oliver Twist” för fler än 170 år sedan. Det kusliga är att det har direkt relevans till det som händer framför våra ögon idag.

”Om lagen antar detta”, sade Mr. Bumble … ”då är lagen en åsna, en idiot. Om det är så lagen ser det, då är lagen en ungkarl; och det hemskaste jag önskar lagen är att dess öga öppnas av erfarenhet – av erfarenhet.”

Notera de sista orden: “… det hemskaste jag önskar lagen är att dess öga öppnas av erfarenhet – av erfarenhet”. Den moderna världen tycks ha en oändlig förmåga att inte lära sig av erfarenhet.

Fråga: När är lagen inte lagen?

Svar: När den tillämpas på arabvärlden.

Sudans diktator och folkmordsmånglare Omar Hassan al-Bashir är sedan 4 mars i år efterlyst av Internationella Domstolen. Han anklagas för att ha gett arabiska muslimer såväl fria händer som logistiskt och politiskt stöd i deras folkmord på tre till fyrahundra tusen svarta afrikaner och utdrivning av nästan tre miljoner människor från deras hem i ett massivt – och mycket omskrivet – försök till etnisk rensning.  

Demokratiska länder över hela världen har lovat att arrestera al-Bashir om han skulle komma till deras länder. Inom arabvärlden däremot kan han resa fritt.

Inte bara det, han mottas med röda mattan som ett hedrat statsöverhuvud. Till och med i länder som anses som ”pro-väst” såsom Qatar och Saudiarabien.

Det finns en allt större skillnad mellan arabvärldens vedervärdiga etik där svarta afrikaner kan slaktas utan att någon straffas, och den demokratiska världens moralkodex som innehåller en viss minimistandard av anständighet och civiliserat uppförande.

Vissa av världens värsta förbrytare när det gäller mänskliga rättigheter skyddas förbehållslöst av arabvärlden. Saudiarabien gav en fristad till den fruktansvärda diktatorn och massmördaren Idi Amin. Omar Hassan al-Bashirs överväldigande välkomnande i Qatar är endast det senaste i en rad liknande travestier av rättvisa och moraliskt förfall i arabvärlden.

Arabvärldens kompakta vägran att följa lagen är inte enbart en varningssignal om hur ömtåligt det juridiska systemet är när det så öppet hånas. Det ifrågasätter också den civiliserade världens fortsatta beredvillighet att ta itu med ett stort och viktigt globalpolitiskt och ekonomiskt block som helt öppet visar sitt förakt för det civiliserade samhällets mest grundläggande byggstenar.

Ändå gör vi varenda dag lukrativa affärer med dessa regimer och deras ledare.

“The law is a ass”

Charles Dickens knew a thing or two.

His use of English grammar as expressed through the words of the inimitable Mr Bumble, might seem quaint by today’s standards, but there’s nothing wrong with his perception, his clarity and his honesty. Here’s what Charles Dickens wrote in “Oliver Twist more than 170 years ago but with direct relevance to events playing out before our eyes to this very day.

“If the law supposes that,” said Mr. Bumble,… “the law is a ass—a idiot. If that’s the eye of the law, the law is a bachelor; and the worst I wish the law is that his eye may be opened by experience—by experience.”

Note the last few words: “…the worst I wish the law is that his eye may be opened by experience—by experience”.

The modern world seems to have an undying penchant for ignoring the lessons of experience.

Question: When is the law not the law?

Answer: When it applies to the Arab world.

Sudanese dictator and genocide practitioner Omar Hassan al-Bashir is the subject of an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest order issued on March 4 this year. He has been accused of giving Arab Muslim militias a free rein and active logistical and political support in the genocide of three to four hundred thousand black Africans and the forced expulsion of almost three million people from their homes in a massive – and widely reported – ethnic cleansing drive.

Democratic countries the world over are sworn to implement al-Bashir’s arrest should he step within their jurisdiction. Within the Arab world, however, he travels freely.

Not only that, he is given the full red-carpet treatment as an honoured head of state. Even by countries as apparently “pro-Western” as Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

There’s an increasingly serious disconnect between the abysmal ethical record of the Arab world where black Africans can be slaughtered with impunity, and the moral code of the democratic world which lives by certain minimal standards of decency and civilised behaviour.

Some of the worst offenders on human rights issues are being unquestioningly protected by the Arab world. Saudi Arabia gave shelter to disgraced dictator and mass-murderer Idi Amin. Omar Hassan al-Bashir’s grand welcome in Qatar is merely the latest in a string of similar travesties of justice and moral lapses in the Arab world.

The Arab world’s compact refusal to implement the law is not just a warning about the fragility of the legal system as it is openly flouted. It also calls into question the civilized world’s continued willingness to deal with a major global political and economic bloc that openly demonstrates its contempt for the most basic foundations of civilized society.

Yet these are the people with whom we do lucrative business, every single day. What price black African lives?
